Morning CG3

Like Ian I hope that your username relates to RAF Binbrook and the Lightning years!

Hi CG3. You need a Nikon Coolscan EV5000. There are a few on e-bay at present varying from £500 to £1300.

My CG3 slide shots from Binbrook* had been sadly neglected and the scanner I used - Epson Perfection flatbed 2400 - just reproduces the slide whatever its conditionn ie there is no dust removal/rectification software etc.

I am coming to the end of a scanning and posting marathon and I have scanned only about half of my 8/9000 slides collection with the other half needing more careful restoration before they are fit to scan/post or print.. I wish I could have afforded the EV5000 at the start.

* http://iconicaircraft.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =67&t=7464 There are more from CG3 in the Aviation Photography section.

BTW what filmstock did you use? Kodachrome64 doesn't appear to have lasted as well as Fujicolour slide film. :(

Thanx for the info Mod....I've been looking at the Nikon
Your Binbrook pics look like mine !! we may have even stood next to each other at some time.
I managed a week at Binbrook when a friend asked if I would like to help dismantle XR770 and was there when the last two Lightnings flew out.I will have to get those pics scanned !
I used Fujichrome ...I liked the colour and sharpness on my Canon T90 and they seem to be lasting !
How times change...I come home from Coningsby now with 400/500 images.
Cheers..
