Hi Everyone

Introduce yourself here!

Hi Everyone

Postby Avs » Mon Mar 14, 2011 12:03 am

My names Avril, prefered to be called Av. Member of both 655MaPs and 558. Had the unexpected pleasure of a surprise engagement to Bry in the cockpit of 655 last October, extremely memorable day for many reasons. Would like to go to Wellesbourne every week, but due to work commitments its not as often as I would like.

Welcome, Avril!

One question, though, and this will be very
important to your marriage:

When he proposed, was he in the Left seat
or the Right one?

This will determine who will be "In Charge"
in the future!

BEWARE, AVRIL! It's the little things like this
which can make-or-break!

I was sat on the navigator chair he was kneeling on a very small step to the side. A bit cramped as we had Clive (655 photographer) on the cockpit ladder, Len, myself and Bry.
In answer to your question . . . . . . . As he was on the floor guess I'm in charge!!!! LOL I was already overwhelmed by just going into the cockpit, when he proposed I said yes, grabbed the ring out the box and put it on my own finger!!!! Bry didn't get a look in. :D

This is GOOD!

Someone will need to be in charge,
and now there's No Doubt! [-x

I'm sure you will at some point post
up the photographic evidence, but
no hurry.....

But will you be MARRIED in the cockpit???????

Who needs a church organ when you
have 4 X Olympus 301s?!?

Just make sure the guests are stood
in FRONT of the aircraft! :D

With the gate crashers to the back!!! Ready for the engines fire up

Its a thought we've had tho getting us, best man, photographer, vicar, matron of honour and witnesses in the cockpit would be an extremely tight fit. Maybe in the bomb bay or under her wings instead!!

I would like to get Clive's permission for a pic because of the copyright.

Under the Wings ought to do it......

Watch out for the DRIPS, though!

Drycleaning can be Expensive!

I only got to see the T-Birds one time,
early 1960s, when they were flying F-100
Supersabres. THAT didn't last long! It
was a very Dangerous aircraft in that role.....

I've seen Blue Angels twice, though, and
the Canadian Snowbirds once, too....

They all have their "Signature" moves....

Some day I'll see the Arrows!

Thanks to everyone who's said Hi made me feel really welcome.

Dan4th, Kermit said there was a link on an old thread that had engagement pics on, however fotopic site no longer exists, Clive thinks they've ceased trading so will have to get in touch with him.

Hi Avs, Welcome to Iconic.

To satisfy Dan4th's curiosity, here is a copy of Clive Hanley's picture.

One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.
