Microsoft Flight

Postby XR219 » Sun Jan 16, 2011 10:20 pm

I notice there's no thread here about Microsoft Flight, the successor to FSX.

I assume people are aware of this?

The official site is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/
- so far they seem to be quite slow on drip feeding info out.

The latest news was the screen shots which don't strike me as hugely different from FSX but the Stearman looks nice ...

Didn't know about this. Lots of development to do by the look of it. Maybe they should farm it out to the Sony team who did GT5.

I think many of us are wondering why they had to ditch the ACES team who so perfectly well created umpteen previous versions of Flight Simulator.

Not sure what the time scale is for release. MS normally aims for Christmas so that suggests Christmas 2011, which seems a l-o-o-o-o-o-n-g way away!

Reason I didnt notice .... I wasn't looking for it - I thought they were stopping all flight sim. Agree, why dump ACES - are they going in a totally new direction? Presure from xplane etc?

I sense a slightly different direction from the PR blurb but I suspect demand from current FS owners, users and developers has more to do with it than X-Plane.
