Only a quick test flight thus far ... up to 700+ indicated airspeed.

Just don't fire the CANNON for more than a couple of seconds or you'll flame out or stall and fall from your synthetic sky! ;)

Just got my FSX Gold today :D
I've tried downloading a couple of new aircraft from varios websites (freeware) and I've had this message come up on both downloads when I'm trying to install the app:
The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author.

Is this anything to do with what I'm doing? or is this because I've just been unlucky so far?

not sure I've ever seen that one but for most similar messages clicking ok makes it go away and seems to make very little difference =))

When the message pops up, its after I've downloaded it. It pops up when I've unzipped the file and I'm attempting to install it so I can go flying. Because of that, it won't install.

I've just had the same problem with download No3 of 3 now X( .

Does anyone have a direct link for an Airplane download that has worked for them? eg. Vulcan, F14, F16........ :)

I know exactly what you mean, does it have a little brown installer logo??

I have found that only a few have this and it is just trial and error until you find a site that will allow you to download them. Sometimes you don't need to use that though, I take it you know about copying the right files to the right place?

Now I get the feeling I'm doing something wrong?

Yes all the files have a little brown box like logo. I've downloaded 7 now and the same thing everytime.
All the files I'm opening are.air files which are Adobe files. I did updated my version last night, but still had same problem. All, but one of the planes have been modified or created in the last 7 days, which I was hoping would mean they would be more compatable as I'm running FSX with the Accelerator add-on.

All the files I download are .RAR files which I'm unzipping with WinRAR to a folder I have created on my c:/ drive, which has no association with the FSX Folders. Is this what you would normally do?
