Lovely!

Will you go home when you retire, Mart?

No, Mrs. RLN is a Londoner, born and bred (poor girl). However, I've made her promise that she'll spread my ashes from the top of Pen-y-Ghent. I went to the funeral of my Auntie a couple of weeks ago up in Pontefract, and I went to visit my parent's grave. Where they are, they can see straight across country to the Pennines with nothing in the way. It's enough to make a grown man cry. In 2014, I will have been down south for 40 years, but my heart still belongs in Yorkshire. There is an old saying.............."You can take the man out of Yorkshire, but you can't take Yorkshire out of the man".

It's like me with Maine, RLN....

I lived in Manhattan for over
eight years and other places
before and after, but Maine
was H-O-M-E and I had to be
willing to make the financial
sacrifice and head Down-East....

No regrets on that score, btw....

I'm not sure why you ask if anyone remembers the Peasholm Park naval battles. No need to think very far back ~ it still happens every day during the summer season.

Yorkshire folk are easily amused. :p

I know they still happen. What I meant was if anyone remembers them from their childhood. Sorry.

I'm sure this will have been posted before but though it worth another viewing.

I love it!

In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.
