A new 1TB hard drive will cost you about £60 - can't you transfer the data yourself? - especially as they said theres nothing wrong with it or can you not access it at all?

I couldn't access the HDD, that is why it went in for checking.
1Tb HDD is £60 plus VAT
HDD check and transfer data is £39 plus VAT

I was confused because they said there was nothing wrong with it. Have you tried it in another USB port - or something else in that port?

I have tried the HDD in all 3 ports, and nothing. Tried USB Memory sticks in all 3 ports, and they all worked.

I have the same problem with some of my sdhc cards - they are recognised if I boot with them in but not if inserted after I have booted. It is a work round but a pain in the butt so I bought myself a card reader.

Being locked in the bathroom at home was quite irritating.

Good job I'm pretty good at DIY, the lock had jammed the handle down so even though it turned the door was essentially locked, mum had to pass me a screwdriver through the window so I could take the whole handle off and give it a jiggle (that's a technical term :p :)) ) to 'un-lock' it to reattach it to open the door.

Trip to wicks is in order for a new handle as it now "locks" every time you shut the door trapping you inside ~x( .

We did discuss what we would have done had we been locked out, as both the lock and hinges are on the inside. Taking the outer handle off didn't do anything, and it's not a key it's a mechanisms so we;d probably have had to cut the door off somehow. Luckily we have very generous neighbours :)) :)) if you know what I mean ;) plus next door owes us for looking after her cat =)) =))

Canon 1100D and a Tamron something or other 70-300

I have two specks on the sensor that have been there since day one, but I can hide them and they don't really bother me when I use my little lens for landscapes, but this lens has been nothing but trouble, I've moaned several times about the issues I've had on here somewhere. But I never got a chance to take it back to Jessops before it shut :(

This is what I get on photos.

I'm even embarrassed to post them here to be honest :(

is there dust trapped inside the lens or have you got more sensor dots. If it's sensor dots turn yourcamera with the lens off face down and blow it out with a rocket blower.

Hope ths helps

Just to show the difference, here's a bad photo of the only white back ground I could find at nine thirty at night :)) :)) taken with my little lens, no dust.

I've tried using my blower, don't do a thing. Like I said I've got two specks that I've had since the beginning, and no amount of squeezing that thing works =)) =))
It's definitely inside the big lens between the glass, you can look inside and see it, but I can't find a way to get rid of it.

You have another lens right? just mount that on the camera and take a picture of the glass on the dusty one :)

Being accused of steeling someone else's video [-x

Lets forget the moral factor for a second, I wouldn't even know how to go about steeling someone's video :)) far too technical for me =)) =)) easier to just film it myself :D =)) =))

Anyway, they saw the error of their ways and apologised, so all is good :)
It's a first for me, still irritating though.
