Ok - Let's remind you I was born in Shropshire - not very far from a big river - and the Romans were very active there... :p

Well I was just lucky with Google on the last one ...

I don't have much luck with obscure stuff on here ... but I'll try this - where/what is it ??....

And to avoid the usual North/South/East/West questions ... yes it's Cornwall ;)

Yes - spot on - and I picked it as I was doing some research around D day time and found a lot of stuff about how this was used as 'HARD 5' and a launch point for the American 29th Infantry ...

To the right of this photo is this area which was built by the Americans

Image

And the road leading down to the cottage has this sign

Image

By the beach is this

Image

And the strangest thing is that in the cottage (which does an excellent cream tea) is a memorial room to SS Uganda - a now scrapped passenger cruise ship http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Uganda_%281952%29 which saw service as a hospital ship in the Falklands ... when I was about 16 my sister who was then 9 at the time went on an educational cruise with her school on - SS Uganda - small world ;)

Ugandas final story

Anyway - all yours ....

It s typical munition reserve (i dont ont the good word in english), but it s straing , it s hasn t road (disimulet?)
I think is a AFB more a helicopter base (principly for apache) or SOF base, end i don t know the base in uk, i try Odiham , but your apache is in base of the ground army.

The pic doesn't show the whole of the area but you are on the right track--not Odiham
