Overall effect is thrilling, AND there's
a lot to look at, too!

My son, who is not an aircraft fan, just
looked over my shoulder and said: "Wow"!

It really does leap off the screen, I think.....

Thanks, Terry!

The light and shadow are just right.

Funny how the human imagination
adds the sound effects :D

I know exactly what you mean, the sound of a Merlin engine is quite something and whether it's a painting or a model of a Spitfire it just isn't right without it :)

Your stuff is so bee-you-tee-ful there has to
be a coffee table book in there somewhere,
with some lovely, glossy plates suitable for
framing......

BUT!

Mustang ever?

Flying Fortress ever?

Any other Murkin or Brit aircraft you care to name??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Thunderbolt - P38 Lightning - Corsair in Naval Air Arm Livery - I could go ON!

Mossie! Oh, tell me you've painted a Mosquito! Please!

IMHO, there are MANY superb aircraft to be painted!

No fear of that Dan, I'm enjoying all these great comments too much to stop now :)

I have a Mosquito painting but haven't got round to photographing it yet, as soon as I do I'll post it.

This painting is based on the photographic work of well known photographer Patrick Bunce. Apart from the addition of the P-51's it's very much a reproduction in oil of a photograph he took. Because of copy right issues I spoke to him about it and got the thumbs up, he's a very nice chap.

I like them all but Mitchell's Dream is my favorite. Great sense of speed and the shape seems very accurate to me.

Great work! :D

Thanks guys :)

The B-17 is the "Nine-O-Nine" of the 323rd Bomb Squadron, 91st Bomb Group. Having completed 140 combat missions "Nine-O-Nine" is believed to hold the record for the most missions of the Eighth Air Force, in addition to this, no crew members were ever lost. Having survived the War, the aircraft is now owned and flown by the Collings Foundation, Stow, Massachusetts and appears at many air shows.

Not painted any Daks yet I'm afraid, but it is an aircraft I would love to paint at some point :)
